OUR FIRM
Dr. Katrina Sweet is a Practitioner and Associate Professor of Business at North Carolina Wesleyan University, where she also coordinates the Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Masters of Strategic Leadership programs, and the founder of Sweet Research Consulting Firm, LLC.
A native of North Carolina and a graduate of Edgecombe County Public Schools, Dr. Sweet holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from North Carolina Wesleyan University, a Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Government from Keller Graduate School of Management, and a PhD in Organizational Management from Capella University. She also earned a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University.
She teaches various Management and Leadership courses, including Human Resource Management, Principles of Management, Servant Leadership, Transformational Leadership, and Social Innovation and Community Engagement. Additionally, Dr. Sweet consults for start-ups and nonprofit organizations through the Small Business Centers in Eastern North Carolina. Dr. Sweet is the founder of Sweet Research Consulting Firm, LLC.
She has worked with numerous organizations, providing effective training and one-on-one coaching to improve performance outcomes, morale, and productivity including Lenoir County Government where she assisted with implementing a System Thinking Approach to align their strategic planning, culture, processes, and systems. She believes that improving business starts with improving people and teaches organizations to create value that enhances employee productivity from hire to departure.
Dr. Sweet is the author of "Silent Screams from Within" and "Culture Shock," and she is currently working on her third book, "In the Secret Place." She has published peer-reviewed articles on leadership's impact on job satisfaction and organizational commitment, and entrepreneurial best practices for second careers. Her current research focuses on gender bias and counterproductive behavior in the workplace. In her free time, Dr. Sweet enjoys traveling, spending time with her children, reading, and writing.

We spend 1:1 time with your organization ANALYZING your current gaps and prioritizing the need(s) to successfully fulfill them.
Design
Based on the finding of your analysis, we research and DESIGN the best possible learning experience.
Development
...then, we take the time to custom-build (DEVELOP) your learning experience and bring it to life!
Implementation
Once we have built out your custom learning experience, we IMPLEMENT it into the appropriate spaces of your organization.
Evaluation
We know that post-analysis is just as important as pre-analysis; so, we take time to EVALUATE the effectiveness of the program once launched and make appropriate changes!
